Acrylic and oil pastel on gallery canvas.
This piece was actually created for a 50th anniversary celebration of the Ocean Beach Pier. On Wednesdays, my youngest son has half-days in school, so we often head to the beach and spend a couple hours there before picking up his older siblings. The pier is one of our favorite places, because we get to play in the ocean AND eat clam chowder at the Pier Cafe. This piece wasn't part of a series, and I wasn't sure where to put it after the show, but as fate would have it...this client contacted me and said she and her husband were in love with it. She said they live in the Bay Area of CA and spend a lot of time walking the piers and wharf in San Francisco, the city where they met. It wasn't a commission, but just like I created it for them! It now lives right in their dining room for them to enjoy every day.
