WORKS ON PAPER |
These fun, mixed media paintings are on heavy paper that will fit inside a standard size mat or frame. They have been sealed, so you can be creative with other ways to display them as well. (some ideas: hang from a shiny copper binder clip, put inside a magnetic wooden dowel hanger, float inside a glass frame) They look great alone, or add one to your gallery wall for a pop of color!

NAKED SERIES
Raw, exposed, unadorned. The essence of my Naked Series is a neutral palette that represents not only the naked body, but a palpable look at things in their vulnerable state of bare beauty. View entire collection under ORIGINAL WORKS and SMALL WORKS in the SHOP.

It's in our nature to expect certain outcomes. But sometimes what we have planned isn't what the universe...or fate…has in mind. A simple twist of fate is the "wild card" of life!

When I looked at this finished piece, I immediately thought of a roller coaster…a ride people either love or hate. But of course, the roller coaster of life is something we all can relate to!

“I want a girl with a mind like a diamond - I want a girl who knows what's best - I want a girl with shoes that cut - And eyes that burn like cigarettes - I want a girl with a short skirt and a loooooooong jacket.” - Cake. 2001.

You Only Live Once. Popularized by rapper Drake in 2012, and made into an everyday acronym, meme, hashtag and swept young adult mentality for years to come. As with most trendy acronyms, the trend died quickly, but the message remains the same. It's basically "carpe diem", right?! Live for the moment, take that risk, seize that opportunity, take the road less traveled, don't worry about the outcome or future if it feels right. Because YOLO.

Colorful & free-spirited. This touristy beach town is filled with funky shops & cool neighborhoods...street vendors & performers at the beach. Such a fun place to people-watch.

San Francisco will always be one of my favorite cities and places to be. It's so vibrant and alive - the colorful Victorian houses, cable cars, funky neighborhoods, and on a clear day, the stunning Golden Gate Bridge. Pure happiness.

When you have kids, you know that on 7/11 you'll be heading to every 7/11 nearby to get a free slurpie. The colors in this piece made me think of the slurpie colors I see in the kids' cups...the neutral hues of Coca-Cola, Pina Colada and Lemonade...and the brights (and neons!) of Hawaiian Punch, Blue Raspberry and Sour Patch. On a normal day, my younger son will mix every single flavor into one cup (gross, I know!).

At night, my mind is like a neverending reel of memories, people and events, both real and fantasy, that blur with present time reality. Some dreams can't end fast enough and some I want to last forever. Then I lie awake wondering what these mean...and the next day they consume my thoughts. Do you lie awake at night?

My home state, born and raised. With its ocean, beaches, deserts, mountains and sunshine...California has my heart forever.

Our mind is constantly racing with thoughts and ideas. We have a restless soul that craves new experiences and can feel suffocated by too much repetition and routine. Change is essential to our well-being. We are a twin and you never know which one you'll get. Sorry, that's life with a Gemini.

I painted this on an unusually grey day in San Diego. It's hard for me to be motivated when it's not sunny, and often that shows in the color palettes I work with. This was just a fun piece I was playing around with on the side, but I loved how the pops of neon, then the pastel circles suddenly made the dull greys and greens come to life. Just like a bowl of fruit loops on a grey, rainy day!

With its neutral colors mixed with bits of brightness, this piece reminded me of nature…specifically the kind you find while exploring the backroads. Aside from avoiding traffic and seeing the same thing over and over, the backroads present us with uncertainty and excitement of not knowing what's next. It's the best way to travel while roadtripping, if you're up for an adventure!

Painted while listening to the Revivalist's song , "I Wish I Knew You"...on repeat. I love this song and the lyrics are so thought-provoking, as I filter through people in my life, wondering what it would be like if I knew them at another time. Listen to it right now; it starts with this: You shine like a star
You know who you are
You're everything beautiful

Shortly after I finished this piece, I was driving along the coast and saw a boat on the harbor with the name "Pursuit". The rest of the day I thought about that word, and all the things we are in pursuit of in life...balance, happiness, love, success, simplicity,connection...the list goes on. This piece represents the journey of the pursuit – the highs, lows and everything in-between.

It started as a beautiful swath of yellows…and was meant to be a simple landscape for my PCH series. But my mark-making tendency kicked in and soon it was filled with marks of color in all shades of summer. As all my works on paper reveal, I need these little pieces satisfy my need to play and explore. And yellow makes me oh so happy.
